“I am the general manager of the Golden Boot. With over 25 years experience in fitting children’s shoes, your child’s feet are in safe hands.”

We know Back-to-School can be a busy time, so we aim to make the shoe shopping part easy. Booking an appointment ensures you will walk straight into our store and be met by one of our fitters. Alternatively, just show up at the store and we will do our best to see you as soon as possible.

- You will be met by one of our friendly, trained fitters.
- We will always measure both of your child’s feet. We measure both length and width using a Clarks manual measuring gauge. Clarks and Startrite shoes are available in full and half sizes as well as widths raging from E (Narrow) to H (wide). We will always discuss this measurement with you.
- We will view the collection and determine your preferred styles.
- We will fit your child’s shoes checking that they have adequate growing room (approximately 6 months).
- Your child will always have a trial walk to check that they are comfortable in the shoes.
- When you have chosen your school shoes your fitter will explain the best way to look after them.
- We have a Golden Boot loyalty card that can save you up to 15% on an instore purchase.
We encourage you to make sure your child wears their school shoes around the house before they venture out for the first time. They should always wear their school shoes with socks. If at any point you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Aftercare
On the rare occasion that your child finds their new school shoes uncomfortable we ask you return to the store. Do not let your child continue to wear the shoes as this may cause blisters. When you return to the store, we will always try to find the best way to resolve it.
