About Dasco: Dasco Shoe Care is a renowned British brand specializing in the production and distribution of top-tier shoe care products. Established in Northamptonshire, the heart of the English shoemaking industry, Dasco has a rich history spanning over seven decades. The brand is cherished for its extensive range of products designed to extend the life of all types of footwear. From shoe trees and shoe horns to polish and protective sprays, Dasco offers premium quality solutions that ensure your shoes maintain their original charm and durability. Their commitment to quality and detail has cemented their status as a trusted name in shoe care worldwide.

Dasco Leather Shoes Aftercare

A popular material for various types of shoes, leather requires regular cleaning and conditioning to maintain its look and longevity.

  1. Clean: Start by cleaning the shoes. Remove any loose dirt or dust using a soft cloth or a brush. You may use Dasco's shoe cleaning solution for a thorough cleanse.
  2. Condition: Apply Dasco's leather conditioner to the shoes. It helps to nourish the leather and prevent it from drying out. Apply the conditioner using a clean cloth, working it into the leather using circular motions.
  3. Polish: After conditioning, apply Dasco's shoe polish to restore the shine and color of the leather. Apply it with a shoe brush or a soft cloth, again using circular motions.
  4. Protect: Lastly, use Dasco's water and stain protector spray to protect your shoes from the elements. Spray it evenly over the surface of the shoes, ensuring not to soak the material.

Dasco Suede Shoes Aftercare

This type of leather has a soft, napped finish and requires special care to prevent damage and maintain its unique texture.

  1. Clean: Use Dasco's Suede & Nubuck Cleaner to remove dirt and stains. Before applying, ensure that the shoes are dry. Spray the cleaner evenly over the shoe surface and use a suede brush to gently scrub the shoes.
  2. Revive: To renew the look of your suede shoes, use Dasco's Suede & Nubuck Reviver. Shake the can well before use, then spray from a distance of approximately 15 cm. Use a suede brush to restore the nap of the suede.
  3. Protect: After cleaning and reviving your suede shoes, it's important to protect them from future stains and water damage. Dasco's Suede & Nubuck Protector provides an invisible protective barrier against water and stains. Spray the protector evenly over the shoe surface, holding the can approximately 20 cm away from the shoes. Let them dry for about 30 minutes before wearing.
  4. Brush: Regularly brushing your suede shoes with a Dasco Suede Brush can help maintain the texture and appearance of the suede. Brush gently in the direction of the nap to avoid damaging the material.

Remember to always test a small, discreet area first when using any new shoe care product.

How to Use Dasco Shoe Care on Nubuck Shoes

Similar to suede but with a slightly different texture, nubuck leather needs special cleaning and protective products to maintain its appearance.

  1. Cleaning: Begin by removing loose dirt and dust using a nubuck cleaning brush. Dasco’s Nubuck Box is perfect for this purpose. Gently brush the surface to remove debris.
  2. Deep Cleaning: For tougher stains, use Dasco's Nubuck and Suede Cleaner. Shake the container well before use, then spray onto a clean cloth and rub into the stained area.
  3. Reviving: If the nubuck has lost its texture or looks worn, use Dasco’s Nubuck Reviver. Apply to the shoes using the sponge applicator, concentrating on areas that need the most attention. Allow shoes to dry naturally.
  4. Protecting: After cleaning and reviving, it’s essential to protect the shoes from future stains and water damage. Dasco’s Universal Protector provides a protective layer without changing the appearance of the shoes. Spray evenly over the shoe surface from a distance of approximately 15cm. Let it dry naturally.
  5. Brushing: After drying, use the Dasco Nubuck Box again to restore the shoe's original texture. The brushing raises the nap of the nubuck, giving it its characteristic soft and velvety feel.

Remember to always test any product on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't alter the color or texture. Regular care will help maintain the appearance and extend the life of your nubuck shoes.

How to Look After Synthetic Leather Shoes

Often used in athletic shoes, synthetic leather is durable but still requires appropriate care to prevent cracking or peeling.

  1. Cleaning: Begin by removing any loose dirt or dust using a soft cloth or a shoe brush. Use Dasco's Synthetic Cleaner to clean the surface of the shoes. Spray the cleaner onto a soft cloth and gently wipe the shoes. This cleaner is designed to remove grime without damaging the synthetic material.
  2. Conditioning: Synthetic leather doesn't require conditioning like natural leather does. However, to keep it flexible and crack-free, consider using Dasco's Synthetic Conditioner. Apply a small amount onto a cloth and gently rub it over the shoe surface.
  3. Polishing: Dasco's Synthetic Polish can help restore the shine and colour of synthetic leather shoes. Apply the polish with a soft cloth or sponge, spreading it evenly across the surface of the shoes.
  4. Protecting: Synthetic leather can be more susceptible to scuffs and scratches than natural leather. Protect your shoes with Dasco's Protector Spray. This spray adds a layer of protection against moisture, stains, and scuffs. Spray it evenly over the surface of the cleaned and polished shoes.

Remember to always test any product in a hidden area first to ensure it doesn't adversely affect the material. Regular care will extend the lifespan of your synthetic leather shoes and keep them looking their best.

How to look after Canvas Shoes

Mostly used in casual and athletic footwear, canvas is an easy-to-clean material that can often be machine washed.

  1. Remove Dirt: First, remove any loose dirt or stains from the surface of the shoe using a Dasco cleaning brush. Be sure to do this gently to avoid damaging the canvas material.
  2. Apply Cleaner: Use Dasco's Universal Cleaner, which is suitable for all materials including canvas. Apply it to the shoes according to the instructions on the bottle. Usually, this involves spraying the cleaner onto the shoe, then gently scrubbing with a brush.
  3. Wipe Clean: After applying the cleaner, use a damp cloth to wipe away the cleaner and any lifted dirt or stains.
  4. Dry the Shoes: Allow the shoes to air dry naturally. Avoid placing them near heat sources like radiators, as this can cause the canvas to shrink or warp.
  5. Apply Protector: Once the shoes are dry, use Dasco's Protector spray. This will help to repel water and prevent stains, keeping your canvas shoes looking their best for longer.
  6. Regular Maintenance: Repeat these steps regularly to keep your canvas shoes in good condition. It's important to take care of your shoes regularly as canvas can become discolored or damaged if not properly maintained.

Remember to always test any cleaning or protective products on a small, inconspicuous area of the shoe first to ensure they do not alter the color or texture of the material.

Mesh Shoes Shoe Care

Common in athletic shoes for its breathability, mesh requires gentle cleaning to avoid damaging its intricate weave.

  1. Brushing: Start by dry brushing the mesh to remove loose dirt and dust. Use a soft-bristle brush or a specialized shoe brush from Dasco.
  2. Cleaning: Use Dasco Athletic Cleaner or a mild soapy solution to clean the mesh. Apply the cleaner with a soft cloth or sponge, gently working it into the material. Avoid soaking the shoes as this can damage the mesh and other materials.
  3. Rinsing: After cleaning, use a damp cloth to remove the soap or cleaner from the mesh. Make sure to remove all soap residue to avoid any discoloration.
  4. Drying: Allow the shoes to air dry. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight or near a heat source as this can cause the mesh to shrink or warp.
  5. Protector Spray: Once the shoes are dry, use Dasco Protector Spray. This will help to repel water and protect the mesh from stains. Spray evenly over the surface of the shoes and allow them to dry before wearing.

Always remember to spot test any cleaning solution or protector spray on a small, inconspicuous area of the shoe before applying it to the entire shoe. Regular care will ensure your mesh shoes stay in good condition for a long time.

Textile Shoes Aftercare

Taking care of textile shoes using Dasco Shoe Care products involves a few simple steps:

  1. Cleaning: Start by removing any loose dirt or dust with a soft-bristle brush. For stubborn stains, use Dasco's Textile Cleaner. Spray the cleaner on the stained area and gently work it into the fabric with a soft brush, then wipe it off with a clean, damp cloth.
  2. Deodorizing: To keep your shoes fresh, use Dasco's Shoe Deodorant. Spray it inside your shoes after each wear to eliminate any unpleasant odors.
  3. Protecting: After cleaning, it's important to protect the textile material from water and stains. Use Dasco's Universal Protector Spray for this purpose. Spray it evenly over the shoe surface from a distance of about 20 cm, and let it dry naturally.
  4. Refreshing: To keep your textile shoes looking vibrant, use Dasco's Shoe Renovator. It helps restore the original color and sheen of your shoes.

Remember to always test the products on an inconspicuous area of the shoe first to ensure they won't alter the color or texture of the material. Also, allow your shoes to dry naturally, away from direct heat or sunlight, after each cleaning or treatment.

Dasco Rubber Boot Care

Often used for the soles of shoes or in rain boots, rubber is durable but can benefit from regular cleaning to remove dirt and prevent discoloration.

  1. Cleaning: Begin by removing any loose dirt or mud from the boots using a cloth or soft brush. Then use Dasco Universal Cleaner, which is suitable for all materials, to thoroughly clean your rubber boots. Spray it onto a clean cloth and gently scrub the boots.
  2. Conditioning: After cleaning, condition the boots using Dasco Silicon Emulsion. It is an excellent product for maintaining the flexibility of rubber and preventing it from drying out. Apply a small amount onto a cloth and rub it into the rubber.
  3. Protection: Lastly, use Dasco Waterproof Spray to create a protective barrier on your boots. This will help protect them from water and stains. Simply hold the can approximately 15 cm away and spray evenly over the boots. Allow them to air dry.
  4. Storage: When not in use, store your rubber boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent them from drying out or cracking.

Remember to always test a small, inconspicuous area first when using a new product to ensure it does not adversely affect the material.

Patent Leather Shoe Care

Known for its high-gloss finish, patent leather shoes require special care to maintain their shine and prevent scuff marks.

  1. Cleaning: Use Dasco's patent cleaner, especially designed to remove dust and stains from the glossy surface. Apply the cleaner gently using a soft cloth, wipe in a circular motion, and then let the shoes dry.
  2. Protection: After cleaning, use Dasco's patent gloss to restore and maintain the shine on your shoes. Apply it evenly all over the shoe surface, allow it to dry, and then buff with a dry cloth.
  3. Maintenance: For regular upkeep, use Dasco's patent instant shine sponge. It's a quick and effective way to restore shine without a mess.

Remember, always test any product on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure that it doesn't negatively affect the shoe's finish. After each use, allow your shoes to dry naturally, away from direct heat sources. Regular care with Dasco's products will help keep your patent shoes in great condition and prolong their life.

Cork Soles Aftercare

Commonly used in summer sandals, cork needs special care to prevent it from drying out and cracking.

  1. Cleaning: Use a soft brush to remove any loose dirt or dust from the surface of the sandals. If the sandals are stained, use Dasco multi cleaner which is suitable for all materials including cork. Apply a small amount on a clean cloth and gently rub the stained area.
  2. Conditioning: After cleaning, condition the cork soles with cork sealer. This will help to keep the cork from drying out and cracking. Make sure the sandals are dry before applying the sealer. Apply it evenly over the cork, allow it to dry, and then apply a second coat if needed.
  3. Protecting: Once the sealer is dry, protect your sandals using Dasco's protector spray. This will help to guard against water, stains, and dirt. Always test the spray on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it does not alter the color or texture of the cork.
  4. Storing: Store your sandals in a cool, dry place away from direct heat or sunlight. If possible, keep them in a shoe box or a dust bag to protect them from dust and damage.

Faux Fur Boot Care

Used in winter boots, faux fur should be gently cleaned to maintain its fluffy appearance.

  1. Cleaning: Begin by removing any loose dirt or dust from the boots with a soft cloth or a brush specifically designed for faux fur. You may also use Dasco's foam cleaner for a thorough clean. Just ensure to test on a small, inconspicuous area first to make sure it doesn't discolour or damage the fur.
  2. Refresh: You can freshen up your faux fur footwear using Dasco's odor eliminator. Spray it lightly inside the boots and allow them to dry naturally.
  3. Protect: To protect the boots from stains and water damage, use Dasco's protector spray. Hold the can approximately 20 cm away from the shoes and spray evenly. Allow the shoes to dry naturally, away from direct heat.
  4. Preserve: Use a soft brush to lightly brush the faux fur to keep it looking plush and prevent matting.

Remember, it's always best to follow the care instructions provided by the shoe manufacturer and to test all products on a small area first. Regular care will help maintain the appearance and extend the lifespan of your faux fur shoes.
