Mens Green Shoes

Men’s green shoes in this shop are a country and casual colour, not a promise of emerald dress shoes. The green we fit comes from Barbour and Le Chameau, plus trainers and outdoor shoes from Hoka, On and Merrell, and the odd Teva. Shades run from olive to a clearer green, and they change with the delivery.

Men’s green shoes by Nike are not a range we stock. A men’s green shoes sale, when we have one, is whatever reduced pair is left on our men’s shoes sale page. Green smart shoes for men, in the sense of a polished oxford, are something to ask about on the day.

Choosing men’s green shoes

What the colour is doing

  • Olive and moss sit quietly with navy, stone, brown and tweed
  • A brighter green reads as casual, and wants a plain trouser
  • Green with a green trouser is a costume unless you meant it
  • Country boots and wellies are where this colour is richest here

Wedding or weekday

Men’s green shoes for a wedding can look right at a country wedding, in olive, with tweed or navy. They are a poor match for a morning suit or black tie. Men’s green shoes for casual wear are the trainers and the softer country shoes. Bring the invitation, or the jacket, and we will tell you if what we have that week can do the job.

Fitting tips from our fitters

  • Judge the green in daylight. Shop lighting shifts olive towards brown. Step to the door with us.
  • Match it to cloth you already own. A photograph of the suit saves a wasted journey.
  • Do not buy a tight shoe because the colour is rare. The shade will come round again. A sore foot will not improve.
  • Wellies and trainers are different fits. A green Le Chameau and a green Hoka are not interchangeable sizes.
  • Ask what else is green in the outfit. A belt, a sock and a jacket in three greens rarely agree.

Country green often starts with Barbour’s size and fit guide. For a trainer, see Hoka or On.

Frequently asked questions

Is it OK to wear green shoes?

Yes. Olive is a normal country colour in Kent, and a plain green trainer is an ordinary casual shoe. The mistakes are a very bright green at a formal wedding, and a green shoe fighting a green trouser. If you are unsure, bring the outfit and we will be frank.

What can you wear green shoes with, for men?

Navy, stone, cream, brown and grey all give the shoe somewhere to sit. Tweed and a waxed jacket are the easy country answer. For town, keep the rest of the clothes quiet so the shoe is the only strong note. White socks with a dark green shoe are the combination we would talk you out of.

Do you keep men’s green shoes UK in smart styles?

As a polished smart shoe, they are not a standing range on this page. What we can show you is usually a country boot, a wellington or a casual trainer. If you need a formal shoe in a conventional colour, our fitters will point you to black or brown rather than stretch the truth about the green shelf.

Will you order a green shoe you do not have?

Ask us. Some makers can supply a colour we do not have on the floor, and some cannot. We would rather say no than sell you a near-enough green that looks wrong beside the suit in the photographs.

We are on Gabriel’s Hill in Maidstone. Bring the jacket the shoes have to live with, especially if the green is for a wedding. Our men’s luxury wellingtons are often the greenest thing in the building.
