About Shepherd of Sweden: Shepherd of Sweden make sheepskin slippers. A new pair can feel a little tight, and they ask you to start with your normal size, because sheepskin and wool stretch over a few days and mould to the foot. The check they give is the heel: it should sit edge to edge with the sole. Women’s UK sizes match our site. Men’s UK sizes match at EU 41, 42, 43, 47 and 48, and differ at EU 44, 45 and 46. The centimetre in our table is the middle of the foot-length range on their slipper chart.
Our women’s Shepherd runs from EU 37 to EU 42, and the UK size on their chart matches the UK we show all the way through. In at the moment are the Annie, the ankle-high Karin, and the mules Selina and Jessica. Their women’s slipper lengths run from 23.7–24.4 cm at EU 37 up to 27–27.8 cm at EU 42. The centimetre in the table is the middle of each range.

Our men’s Shepherd is the Hugo mule, the Anton and the Denver, from EU 41 to EU 48. EU 41, 42, 43, 47 and 48 match our UK sizes. EU 44 is a UK 10 on their chart (we show 9.5), EU 45 is a UK 11 (we show 10) and EU 46 is a UK 11.5 (we show 11). Their published lengths for the men’s slippers are quite tight at EU 43 (28–28.3 cm) and EU 46 (29.4–29.7 cm), so measure and compare the range rather than relying on the single centimetre in the table.

Sheepskin care
Shepherd ask you not to machine-wash the slippers. Wipe them with lukewarm water and a mild soap that is safe for sheepskin, without soaking them. While they are still damp, ease them back into shape with your hands, then air-dry them in a warm room, away from a radiator. They are not waterproof when new. Shepherd suggest a suitable impregnating treatment if you will wear them out in wet weather. They also state that their skins are not from mulesed sheep.
Not necessarily. Shepherd say sheepskin and wool feel snug at first and then stretch over a few days. Start with your normal size. The heel should line up with the edge of the sole.
Yes, for the sizes we stock. EU 37 is UK 4 and EU 42 is UK 8, with the sizes between lining up as well.
EU 41, 42, 43, 47 and 48 do. EU 44, 45 and 46 do not: their chart is a half to a full UK size above the UK we show. Read the box UK column for those.
Not in the machine. Use lukewarm water and a mild sheepskin-safe soap, reshape them while damp, and dry them away from direct heat.
Shepherd say most skins come from Australia, the UK, Iceland or Sweden, and that they do not use skins from mulesed sheep. The brand itself is Swedish.
