About Blundstone: Blundstone has been making boots in Tasmania since 1870, and the pull-on chelsea style is what most people know them for. The elastic sides mean no laces to fuss with, and the leather uppers are built for daily wear on farm, yard or pavement. Alongside the lifestyle boots we stock, Blundstone also makes safety and work styles. If you want a hard-wearing boot that still looks smart after years of use, they are well worth a proper look.
Blundstone boots are unisex and sized in UK sizes, so the number on the box matches the UK size on our website. We stock women’s fits from UK 4. Most of our customers take their usual size; half sizes add a little more room over the instep rather than extra length, so if a full size feels snug on top a half size up is the one to try.
Men’s Blundstone runs in UK sizes from 4.5 up to 13 in our current stock, including the half sizes. They are true to size on length with a medium to generous width. Expect a little heel slip for the first few wears while the leather and footbed settle in; if they still feel loose after that, the spare insole that comes with the Classic series takes up the slack nicely.

For most feet, yes. We find customers usually take their normal UK size, with about 1 cm of toe room when standing in the socks they plan to wear. The leather will give a little across the instep over time, but it does not stretch in length.
A half size is wider, not longer. Blundstone adds more leather over the instep, so UK 8.5 is a wider-fitting UK 8 with the same footbed length. If you need more room in length, go up to the next full size rather than a half.
Yes, and it catches people out. A little heel lift when you walk in a fresh pair is quite common with the pull-on design, and it usually settles as the leather moulds. If the boots feel genuinely loose, try the spare insoles that come in the box before sizing down.
The Classic series runs slightly wider than the Original and often includes extra insoles to adjust the fit. Dress ankle boots have a longer, more tapered toe box, so we would often steer you down a half or full size there.
They should feel firm rather than painful from day one. The leather across the instep softens with wear over the first few weeks, but you should not be gritting your teeth. If your toes are hitting the front, they are too short and you need a different size, not more breaking in.
Brush off mud when dry, then treat the leather with a good quality conditioner or wax polish to keep it supple. Let them dry naturally away from direct heat, and use a waterproofing spray if you wear them regularly in wet weather.
