About Ecco: Ecco is a Danish brand founded in 1963 that we have sold for many years. They run their own tanneries and bond the sole directly to the upper, which gives a flexible, cushioned shoe that is comfortable from the first wear. The range covers everyday casuals, smarter lace-ups, golf shoes and outdoor boots, and suits anyone who finds conventional leather shoes too stiff or narrow.
Ecco women’s shoes are made in EU sizes and generally come up true to size. Ecco give each EU size a UK range rather than a single number, which the box column shows; if you are at the top of a range, take the next EU size up. We stock from EU 36 (UK 3) to EU 43 (UK 9).

Generally yes, if you match your foot length in cm to the EU size on our chart. ECCO sizes in whole EU sizes with no half sizes, and the toe box is often roomy, so narrow feet can feel there is a bit too much space. If you are between sizes, let the cm measurement decide rather than rounding up out of habit.
They suit wider forefeet particularly well. ECCO’s Freedom Fit holds the heel and instep but leaves room for the toes to spread, which is why customers with a broader foot often get on with them when other brands feel pinched across the front.
Most styles need very little breaking in thanks to the cushioned direct-injection sole. A stiffer leather formal shoe may take a few wears to settle, but you should not expect the stiff, painful break-in that some traditional leather shoes need.
ECCO does not offer separate narrow, standard and wide fittings. Instead, most styles use the Freedom Fit last, which is designed to suit a broad range of foot shapes. Some models also have removable insoles, or Dual-Fit insoles you can take out for a bit more room.
Go by EU size and foot length in cm. The UK number on the ECCO box can be half a size or more away from the UK size shown on our site, so treat the EU size and cm columns as the reliable pair.
No. A casual Soft 7 trainer and a structured golf shoe are built on different lasts, so one style can feel roomier than another even in the same EU size. If you already know an ECCO last that suits your foot, it is worth sticking to that family of styles.
