About FitFlop: FitFlop is a British footwear brand founded in 2007 by Marcia Kilgore. They are best known for cushioned sandals and flip-flops, though the range now runs to trainers, boots and everyday casuals. The Microwobbleboard™ sole is their hallmark: a triple-density footbed that absorbs impact and spreads pressure across the foot. If you are on your feet a lot and want proper cushioning under a summer sandal or a casual shoe, FitFlop is a brand we are often asked about.
This is FitFlop’s own women’s chart from their UK fit guide, with foot length in millimetres. They say that if you are unsure, take the next size up, and that fit still varies with the style and the sole. Sizes on our site come and go with stock.

FitFlop’s cushioned sole technology with three density zones that absorb shock and spread pressure as you walk.
A contoured, cushioned footbed shaped to support the natural arch of the foot.
A sandal style with a strap that sits between the big and second toe, as seen on FitFlop’s best-known styles.
We find it depends on the style. Many open sandals feel roomier than shoes from other brands, and some customers size down on toe-post styles, while slimmer strappy models fit closer to true size. If you can try them on in the shop, that is always the safest approach.
FitFlop’s own guidance is to choose the next size up if you are between sizes, as feet swell during the day. On toe-post sandals we would still avoid going up unless the length is genuinely short, because extra length can throw off where the strap sits.
Generally, yes. FitFlop footbeds are cut with room for natural toe movement, and many styles feel wider through the forefoot than typical fashion sandals. Very narrow feet can find them a little loose, so a back-strap style may suit better than a basic flip-flop.
Most pairs feel cushioned from the first wear thanks to the Microwobbleboard sole. Leather straps on toe-post styles can feel firm at first and may need a few short wears to soften, so we would not judge the fit from a single five-minute try-on.
Many customers with sore heels swear by FitFlop, particularly the Microwobbleboard sandals and cushioned trainers. They are not medical footwear, but the arch contour and shock absorption often ease day-to-day discomfort. The Rally trainer is one style we hear praised for walking distances.
For unlined footbeds, a damp cloth or soft toothbrush with a little mild soap works well. Do not put them through the washing machine or soak them completely, as that can damage the cushioned midsole. Wipe leather uppers gently and let them air dry away from direct heat.
