About Holland Cooper: Holland Cooper is a British country label we stock in coats, gilets, knits, jeans and boots, including the Burghley trainer and the shearling slipper. They cut to a UK size and say the fit is consistent from one piece to the next. Check whether a trouser is short or regular before you go by the dress size alone.
Women’s shoes and boots, including the Burghley trainer and the shearling slipper, are sized in UK. Holland Cooper’s chart runs UK 3 to UK 9 as EU 36 to EU 42, one EU size below the number on our filters from UK 7 up. Order by the UK size. They describe the footwear as true to size.

Use the UK dress size. A 10R is a UK 10 regular leg and a 10S is a UK 10 short leg: same chest and waist, different length. Plain numbers without a letter are the body size on coats, knits and some jeans. Letter sizes follow the split labels on Holland Cooper’s chart: XS is a UK 6, S covers UK 8 to 10, M covers 10 to 12, L covers 12 to 16, XL covers 14 to 16, and XXL is a UK 18. If you are on the edge of L, go by the dress size instead.
Men’s knits and fleeces are S to XXL. S is a 38 inch chest, M is 40, L is 42, XL is 44 and XXL is 46. The single-breasted blazer is sold by that chest number, so a 40 is the same chest as an M. Jeans are sold by waist and leg in inches, so W34 L32 is a 34 inch waist with a 32 inch inside leg. XXXL is not on Holland Cooper’s published chart, so ask us for measurements. Sock boxes in 8–10 and 11–13 are UK shoe sizes. Holland Cooper say the men’s fit is true to size.
The letter after a dress size. 12R is a UK 12 regular leg, 12S is a UK 12 short leg. The body measurements do not change.
Holland Cooper’s own labels for the dress sizes that sit between two letters. A UK 10 is S/M. A gilet that is only offered as S or M uses the range in the table.
Their aim is one silhouette across coats, knits and denim. Lighter denim stretches more. Coated and leather pieces can feel firm until they ease.
Yes. That is their own line, for clothes and for boots. Take your usual UK dress size or your usual UK shoe size, then adjust for a short or regular leg, or for a coated fabric that feels firm at first.
Both are a UK 12, with a 38 inch chest and a 30 inch waist. R is the regular leg and S is the short leg. Check the product page for the inseam, because it varies by style.
XS is a UK 6. S spans UK 8 to 10, M spans 10 to 12, L spans 12 to 16 and XL spans 14 to 16. XXL is a UK 18. The L range is wide because their chart marks both 14 and 16 as L/XL, so a numbered size is the safer choice if you have one.
Not from UK 7 upwards. Holland Cooper’s chart says UK 7 is EU 40 and UK 8 is EU 41. Our filters show EU 41 and EU 42. Order the UK size you wear in other boots.
Only in the cases they mention. Lighter washes stretch more than a raw wash. Coated denim and leather can feel smaller at first, and a size up is reasonable there. Flare jeans cut for a heeled boot: take a shorter leg if you will wear flats.
