About Hush Puppies: Hush Puppies was launched in 1958, in Rockford, Michigan, as a more comfortable casual shoe. The basset hound is still the logo. What we have in stock is one women’s style, the Verity (H11752), a black patent slip-on loafer with a flexible TPR sole and a treaded outsole.
The only Hush Puppies style we have in at the moment is the Verity slip-on (H11752), in black patent, from UK 3 to UK 9. It is a plain loafer for school, college or work, with a patent leather upper, a flexible TPR sole and a tread for grip. The foot length in the table is a standard conversion. Hush Puppies do not publish a centimetre chart for this style, so measure against your usual UK size.
| UK (site) | EU | UK (box) | Foot cm | Shop |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 36 | 3 | 23.0 | |
| 4 | 37 | 4 | 23.7 | |
| 5 | 38 | 5 | 24.3 | |
| 6 | 39 | 6 | 25.0 | |
| 7 | 41 | 7 | 26.3 | |
| 8 | 42 | 8 | 27.0 | |
| 9 | 43 | 9 | 27.7 |
Looking after the patent
Wipe the patent with a soft, damp cloth and dry it. A patent dressing will keep the shine. Ordinary wax polish will dull it, so keep that for leather that is not patent. Stuff the shoes with paper if they get wet, and keep them off a radiator.
Take your usual UK size in the Verity. We have no note from Hush Puppies that this loafer runs long or short. Because it slips on, with no fastening, a high instep is the reason to try the next size up.
Use UK. From UK 3 to UK 6, and at UK 9, their EU matches ours. At UK 7 and UK 8 their chart gives a span of two EU numbers, and they warn that EU can change from one style to another.
No. It is not from their wide-fit range. If you need a wider shoe, this is not the pair to size up into and hope.
A flexible TPR outsole with a tread, and a patent leather upper. Hush Puppies do not give a heel height for the Verity, so treat it as a flat slip-on until you have the pair in your hand.
