Examples of popular Loake styles include Brogues, Loafers, Boots, Trainers, Chelsea Boots, Boat Shoes, and Oxfords. Loake Men's Boots Fit

When trying on a new pair of Loake boots, it is recommended to make sure that the boot fits snugly and that you can comfortably move your toes. Loake men's boots come in different last shapes and alternative width fittings, ranging from narrow to wide as listed below:

E = Narrow | F = Regular | G = Wide | H = Extra Wide

The majority of Loake boots are graded in UK sizes, and a small number of styles are graded using the continental scale. Please use the size guide below to ensure that you find the perfect fit. It can also be useful to read reviews from other customers to get a better idea of how a particular style fits. Loake Men's Shoes Fit

Loake men's shoes fit true to size. The brand offers a variety of shoe styles, including brogues, loafers and slip-ons. It's recommended to choose the size that you usually wear, but it's also a good idea to check the specific sizing information provided for each style. Loake uses many different last shapes and alternative width fittings to cater for various customer needs. Each shoe last provides an approximation of the shape of a foot, which the upper of the shoe is stretched over during the manufacturing process. It is the last which gives the shoe its shape and fitting properties. New Loake shoes may initially slip on and off your heel while the new soles are still rigid, but this does not always mean that the shoes are too big. Possible solutions to prevent heel slipping and blisters include using pads, insoles or shoe liners with extra padding in the heel cups. Overall, Loake shoes are known for their quality and durability, making them a great investment for any wardrobe.

Aftercare

How to Look After Loake Shoes?

It is important to take care of Loake shoes to maintain their quality and appearance over time. Leather shoes need regular cleaning, conditioning, and polishing to prevent damage. Suede shoes, on the other hand, require more specialized care, including brushing after every use, using a protective spray, and using a suede cleaning block for stains. The following care guide can help you to look after your Loake shoes and extend their lifespan:

  1. Always use a shoe horn when putting on your Loake shoes. This will protect the sturdiness of their backs.
  2. Use shoe trees to maintain the shape of your shoes and prevent them from developing creases.
  3. Clean your shoes regularly with a soft brush or cloth to remove dirt and dust. If your shoes are heavily soiled, use a damp cloth to wipe off the dirt and let them dry naturally. If the shoes are made of suede, you can brush the shoes with a suede brush and use a suede protector spray regularly to prevent stains.
  4. A leather conditioner or cream can be applied to leather shoes to keep them soft and supple. Use a cloth to apply the cream evenly, and then buff your shoes with a soft cloth to bring out the shine.
  5. Protect your leather shoes from the elements by using a waterproof spray or wax. Apply the spray or wax evenly to your shoes and let them dry completely before wearing them. This step is especially important in Nordic countries where the shoes get exposed to snow, slush, gravel or salt on the streets.
  6. Rotate your shoes regularly to prevent excessive wear and tear. Avoid wearing the same pair of shoes two days in a row, and give them time to dry out and rest between wears.

The Golden Boot offers many products which can help you to care for your Loake shoes. Please visit our Shoe Care section for details.

Glossary

The type of sole used in the construction of shoes impacts their comfort and suitability for different conditions. The glossary below explains some of the sole technologies used at Loake.

Term Description
Goodyear welted All Loake shoes feature Goodyear welted leather soles, a traditional method of shoe construction that retains its shape and allows the foot to breathe. One of the benefits of Goodyear welted construction is that the shoes can be repaired. The brand offers a full factory repair service - ideally this should be used just before the soles wear through.
Welted Rubber soles Loake produces boots with rubber soles for more durable wear in damp conditions. A rubber sole gives better grip on slippery or uneven surfaces.
Cemented Sole Shoes of this type have a sole that is attached using adhesives, rather than stitching. Cemented shoes generally look more lightweight than Goodyear welted shoes, but they are not as robust.
