About Muck Boots: The Original Muck Boot Company has made waterproof boots since 1999. On the UK size guide they are full sizes only, in a standard D width, with about 15 mm of toe room already built in, so you order your usual whole UK size. Women’s styles use a slimmer last. Unisex styles use a men’s last and are roomier. The charts further down are Muck Boots’ own UK size guides. Which sizes we can offer comes and goes with stock.

Muck Boots fit & sizing tips

  • Order your usual whole UK size. The 15 mm toe allowance is already in the sizing, including room for a thicker sock. Men’s UK sizes run about 6 to 14, women’s about 3 to 9, unisex about 3 to 14.
  • Half sizes. The UK guide says if you take a half size, go up to the next full size, or use a thicker sock in the smaller one. There is no half size to buy.
  • Width and calf. They are listed as standard width D. The neoprene top stretches, which helps a wider calf, and some styles add an adjustable gusset. If the heel slips, a heel grip helps, because most styles have no laces.
  • Wider feet. The UK guide suggests unisex styles for women who need more room, because those are built on a men’s last. The US fit notes say the materials will stretch towards an EEE, and that a narrow foot should use a thicker sock.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Muck Boots run true to size?

The UK guide says yes in most styles, with 15 mm of toe room already included. Order your usual whole UK shoe size. Do not add another size on top for socks.

I take a half size. Which way do I go?

On the UK size guide, go up to the next full size. The US FAQ is different for women: it says men who take a half size should go up, and women should go down. For boots bought here, follow the UK guide.

Are they wide enough, and what about calves?

The UK listing is standard width D. Women’s lasts are slimmer than unisex. Neoprene stretches around the calf, and adjustable styles open further with a gusset. The US notes say the upper can stretch to suit a wider foot, up to an EEE.

The heel is slipping. What can I do?

Most Muck boots do not lace, so you cannot cinch the instep. Their advice is a heel grip inside the boot. Too much length makes that slip worse, which is another reason not to go up a size unless you are a half size.
