About Panama Jack: Panama Jack is a Spanish footwear brand, founded in 1989 in Elda, best known for its Panama ankle boot in waxy vintage leather. We stock them for customers who want a sturdy, practical boot that still looks smart day to day. Most styles are made in Spain, sized in EU, and the chart below matches the UK and EU sizes on our website.

Panama Jack fit & sizing tips

  • True to size. Panama Jack is sized in EU and generally fits true to size. Measure both feet in cm and match against the chart rather than guessing from another brand’s UK size.
  • Leather softens with wear. The waxy, oiled leathers used give the boots their rugged look and will soften and darken further with wear.
  • Room for a proper sock. These are substantial boots, cut with enough room for a thicker sock in colder months.
  • Our take. A durable, characterful boot that only looks better with age and a bit of honest wear.

Panama Jack Women’s Boots & Shoes

Panama Jack women’s boots and shoes are made in Spain in EU sizes and come up true to size. The waterproof leathers are quite firm when new and soften with wear, so a new pair should feel snug rather than tight; if you plan to wear thick socks, consider the size up. We stock from EU 36 (UK 3) to EU 42 (UK 8).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Panama Jack boots run true to size?

We find them generally true to size in EU, which matches Panama Jack’s own guidance. Measure both feet in cm, use the longer measurement, and match that against our chart rather than ordering from habit in another brand.

I’m between sizes. Should I size up?

Panama Jack suggests taking the larger size if you are torn, especially with winter boots and thicker socks. We would not size up beyond that “just in case”, as extra room often causes heel slip and rubbing.

Do Panama Jack boots need breaking in?

The vintage and oiled leathers soften quickly with wear, and many customers are comfortable within a few outings. A lace-up boot gives you more adjustment than a pull-on style if the leather feels firm at first.

Are Panama Jack boots waterproof?

Many of the leathers we stock are treated waterproof nappa, which copes well with wet pavements and moderate rain. They are sturdy country boots, not wellies, so we would not rely on them for standing in deep water for long.

How should I look after Panama Jack leather boots?

Brush off dirt after wear, clean with a damp cloth and neutral soap if needed, and let them dry naturally away from radiators. A little neutral grease or cream can revive tired oiled leather, but it will darken the colour, and we would not use grease on Gore-Tex® lined pairs.

Are Panama Jack boots good for wide feet?

Fitting varies by style, and Panama Jack notes that some models run wider than others. Lace-up boots are usually more forgiving than a snug pull-on, so if you have a broader foot we would try the specific style or go up a half size.
