Mens Luxury Boots

Men’s luxury boots in leather should earn their keep: a heel that stays put, a sole you can repair, and a last we already know how to fit. In the shop that means Crockett & Jones, Loake, Red Wing, Panama Jack, Dubarry and R. M. Williams, in brown and black more often than anything else.

A men’s luxury boots sale UK, and any men’s luxury boots clearance, is the same short list of reduced sizes. It changes as pairs sell. The boot itself is not a different, lesser make.

Choosing men’s luxury boots

Leather and make

  • Calf that will take a polish, or a heavier leather for wet lanes
  • A welted sole where you want the boot resoled in years to come
  • Chelsea height for town, a higher boot for country miles
  • Brown or black first. Tan and burgundy appear, then go

Town or country

Tell us the coat before the logo. A calf Chelsea from Loake or Crockett & Jones is the town boot. Red Wing and Panama Jack take daily wear and weather. Dubarry is the country side of the rail. Jeffery West is the designer last, sharper and less forgiving, so we fit that one with extra care.

Fitting tips from our fitters

  • Bring the socks you will walk in. A thick country sock can ask for another half size.
  • We fit the larger foot. Laces or the Chelsea gusset tidy the smaller one. Do not buy two different sizes.
  • Walk the shop, do not only stand. The heel should not lift, and the ankle bone should not be bitten.
  • Northampton lasts are not trainer lasts. Read the Loake and Crockett & Jones guides, then let us measure you.
  • Stiff calf needs a short break-in. A hot spot on the first lap means the size is wrong, not that you should suffer.
  • Ask about care before you leave. Suede and polished calf are looked after differently. Our shoe care shelf is there for that.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best men’s luxury boots?

People ask us for the best men’s luxury boots, and there is not a single answer. The right pair is the one that matches your foot and the week you actually have. A man who lives in town will regret a heavy country boot, and the reverse is just as true. Come in and we will put two makers side by side.

Do you have men’s designer boots in the sale?

Sometimes. A men’s designer boots sale UK, on our site, means a reduced pair from makers we already fit, such as Jeffery West, not a label we have never stocked. Telephone the shop if you are travelling for one name, and we will tell you what is on the shelf that day.

Will a luxury boot feel comfortable at once?

A good last should be comfortable in the shop. Leather can ease a little, but pinching, heel slip or a burning toe is a fit problem, not a running-in period. We would rather change the size while you are here.

Which boot if I only own one pair?

Most men in Maidstone do best with a dark brown Chelsea in calf. It takes chinos, wool trousers and a jacket, and it can be polished. If your days are yards, dogs and wet grass, start with a country boot instead and keep the Chelsea for later.

The shop is on Gabriel’s Hill in Maidstone. Bring the socks you walk in, and we will fit the boot before you spend the money. If you are buying for someone else, our women’s luxury boots are a separate rail.
