A sports cap is a small thing to get wrong, and an easy thing to get right once it is on your head. We keep baseball and sports caps for men from Barbour, R. M. Williams, &Sons and Schoffel, mostly in the greens, blues and browns that sit properly with a jacket.
The usual shape is a baseball crown with an adjustable back, so the fit can be set before you leave. If you want a wool cap or a more formal hat, we will show you the rest of the rail.
People ask for designer baseball caps when they want a country maker rather than a fashion logo. Barbour fills most of our rail, with R. M. Williams, &Sons and Schoffel beside it. These are caps for a waxed jacket and a day outdoors, not for a running track. Black, grey, red and taupe turn up as well as the country colours, though not in every size at once.
The Barbour size and fit guide covers the clothing sizes if you are pairing a cap with one of their jackets. &Sons sizing is on the &Sons size and fit guide.
On this page a baseball sports cap means a soft crown and a peak, the kind worn with country clothes. It is not a performance running cap, and it is not a formal hat. If you want something warmer for winter, ask us to move along to the wool caps.
When caps are reduced they are listed with the other reduced hats. The link above goes to men’s caps in the sale. What is reduced changes, so that page is the reliable check, rather than a promise that any one colour is on offer.
Close, but not tight enough to leave a mark. If the strap is fully shortened and the cap still lifts in a breeze, you need a smaller crown. If it pinches before you have used the strap, try a larger one. We will do this with you in a mirror.
Barbour, R. M. Williams, &Sons and Schoffel. We will not pretend every colour is in every size. Come in and we will show you what is on the shelf that day.
Try a cap at the shop on Gabriel’s Hill in Maidstone, ideally with the jacket you wear it with. You may also like our hats for men.
